1. Specifications
Globalsil NH₂ (amino) columns use spherical high-purity silica with propylaminosilane bonded as the stationary phase, and can be used in both normal-phase and reversed-phase modes.
In normal-phase mode, typical mobile phases include n-hexane/ethyl acetate or isopropanol/ethanol, primarily for separating polar compounds such as aromatic amine derivatives, lipids, steroids, and chlorinated pesticides. In reversed-phase mode, common mobile phases are acetonitrile/water or methanol/water, used for separating monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, and carbohydrates. It can also act as a weak anion-exchange phase to separate phenols, organic carboxylic acids, and nucleotides.
Note: When switching the same amino column between normal-phase and reversed-phase modes, use isopropanol as an intermediate solvent to avoid incompatibility between normal-phase and reversed-phase mobile phases.
