Two-way valve:
A two-way valve is used to connect two tubes of the same outer diameter. When selecting a two-way valve, ensure that its pore size matches the inner diameter of the tubing. If the inner diameters are different, choose a two-way valve with a pore size matching the smaller inner diameter tube.
Both internal thread and zero dead volume (ZDV) two-way valves have internal threads and ZDV fittings. The screw has external threads.
An external thread two-way valve has external threads and requires use with an internal-threaded nut. An external/internal thread two-way valve has one end with external threads and the other end with internal threads, for connecting a standard zero dead volume fitting to a tube already assembled on a nut.
Three-way valve:
A three-way valve connects three tubes.

Four-way valve:
A four-way valve connects four tubes.
Standard materials: 300 series stainless steel, which can also be made from Hastelloy C alloy, gold-plated stainless steel, and Titanium.
